This schooner is one of the fastest sailing ships in Lithuania and was built in 1977 in the Netherlands.
It is 36,2 meters long, 6 meters wide with a draft of 3 meters, it has 540 square meters of sails and Twenty-one people can be on board. The rigging has been designed and rigged by the well known Spencer Rigging from Cowes. The Schooner is for teaching the students practicum, as well as for scientific expeditions.
This summer Brabander set sail for its first long voyage under the flag of Lithuania. There it will take part as a visitor in the Tall Ships Races 2007 and will introduce Klaipeda as the final destination (the finish line) for the regatta of 2009.
